The Education Committee of CSCSW is dedicated to the professional growth and development of clinical social workers. We aim to fulfill some of the continuing education interests and CEU needs of our membership. The committee organizes both statewide and regional events. Currently the Committee sponsors three to four educational events in each of the regions throughout the State during the academic year. Typically, these are two hour presentations and discussions led by mental health professionals (many of whom are our own members) on a subject in which they have clinical expertise. Continuing Education credits are generally offered. Regional presentations are free to CSCSW members, non-members are invited to attend for the nominal fee of $10.00, and there is a $5.00 CEU processing fee for all. |

In addition we offer one or two statewide events, typically more in-depth half-day workshops, some of which are collaborative efforts with other professional organizations, or with local schools of social work. CSCSW is authorized by the State of Connecticut to grant CEUs for clinical social workers. Therefore, select members of the committee review applications for CEU requests from other organizations as well as oversee this process for our own programs. To maintain licensure in Connecticut, LCSWs must participate in 15 continuing education contact hours per year for 15 CEUs. The Education Committee is comprised of two or three representatives from each region, and the President of CSCSW. Any member interested in joining the committee, or helping out occasionally, is welcome to attend. We are proud of the expertise and depth of knowledge among our own members.
